RHF Announces Year-End Grants
December 13, 2024
During the last two quarters of 2024, the Redlich Horwitz Foundation (RHF) distributed 27 grants totaling $4,745,540 to 28 partners serving on the front lines of the growing Family Justice Movement in New York.
“We continue to learn from community members and families who say they have experienced unjust harassment due to unfounded allegations that often equate conditions of poverty with child neglect,” said Jessica Maxwell, RHF executive director. “As we move into our second year focusing on reimagining the child welfare system response, these grants will help deepen relationships and cross-movement collaboration dedicated to protecting family rights and integrity and redirecting support to families across the state who lack essential resources.”
“Our trustees appreciate how our partners staunchly show up to assist and advocate for children and families in their communities who are under system surveillance,” added Jessica. “From strategic litigation and direct legal assistance to convening town halls that amplify lived experience storytelling and pooled fund strategies, our commitment to narrowing the front door to child welfare involvement is always at the forefront of this work.”
