Strategies

Redlich Horwitz Foundation invests in transformative strategies that strengthen the growing movement to right-size the child welfare system and expand community-driven supports that promote child well-being and keep families intact.

Our philanthropic approach reflects the voices, priorities, and expertise of the people and communities most affected by the child welfare system.

RHF’s grantmaking focuses on four priorities and goals centered on achieving equity and justice for New York families:

Movement and Power Building

Increase the capacity and readiness for local and statewide engagement in advocacy to empower and connect the youth, parents, and communities historically targeted for family surveillance.

Trust in Community.
Invest in Families.

RHF is an ally for system change and family success. We call for the expansion of community-driven supports that keep New York families intact and ensure that the small percentage of children at risk of physical harm remain safe and supported.

We strive to be a flexible, transparent, and collaborative partner and continue to explore new grantmaking opportunities and structures to infuse more funding into necessary advocacy, storytelling, grassroots movement-building, and legal strategies.

We encourage community organizers, lived experience experts, child advocates, and other philanthropic organizations to join us in the fight for family justice.
