Partnerships
Powering the Vision
The Redlich Horwitz Foundation supports a spectrum of partners dedicated to improving the lives of children and families in New York. We fund statewide coalitions, local grassroots organizations, researchers, academic scholars, and policy infrastructure to bridge systems and communities and deepen relationships that spark cross-movement collaborations.
Our grantees are leading the way to change policies and practices that disrupt and damage children and families across New York.
Pursuing Family Justice
Communities with the highest levels of child welfare involvement also have deep histories of poverty, systemic racism, and years of underinvestment. We recognize that the people and communities most affected by current policies and practices must guide efforts to reimagine child welfare.
Our partners include groups led by people with lived experience and organizations that actively engage with and support marginalized youth and parents sidelined by harmful system interactions by giving them the tools to heal, find their voices, and mobilize grassroots action for meaningful change.
We believe in sharing power with individuals with lived experience to infuse their expertise into leadership, strategy design, and implementation roles. This inclusive approach shapes sound decision-making and identifies concrete solutions responsive to the specific needs of families in each region.
Leveraging Philanthropy to Strengthen Families
RHF actively participates in pooled funding initiatives dedicated to safeguarding child well-being by ensuring families receive the support they need to thrive and stay together.
Our work with other philanthropic organizations aims to strengthen public-private partnerships, expand participatory grantmaking, and support initiatives that prioritize child safety and preserve family integrity. We also stand by our long-standing commitment to funding initiatives that help children and youth in and exiting the foster system make connections, achieve stability, and pursue their dreams.
Our partners are at the forefront of the emerging family justice movement. RHF will continue to listen and learn from people with lived experience, child welfare leaders, advocates, legislators, and community organizers working to build community power and redesign more responsive, accessible, and effective family support networks.
