RHF Strategy

Reimagine Community response for child and family wellbeing

Organization

The Westchester Department of Social Services provides child support, financial, food, housing, medical, and home assistance for eligible residents of Westchester County, promoting the independence, health, safety, and protection of vulnerable adults and children.

Region

Westchester County

Current Grant

$250,000 • Westchester County Disproportionate Minority Representation

Supports targeted efforts to address disproportionate minority representation in the child welfare system by diverting SCR hotline calls to county specialists who connect families to resources rather than referring them for investigations. Funding also allows DSS to examine internal decision-making points that are susceptible to implicit bias.
