Free The People ROC (FTP-ROC) was established in response to systemic inequities exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic and the national movement calling for an end to police brutality. Since 2020, this member-led organization has been dedicated to building and sustaining strong communities through a vision of wellness and safety. Through grassroots organizing, leadership development of directly impacted people, coalition-building, community education, and narrative shifting, FTP ROC has mobilized thousands of residents in Rochester and across New York State to participate in direct action and long-term movement-building.
